King Louie & Baby James
Kris Kristofferson

Story

James and pianist Randy Cannon had worked out the basics of this arrangement of the Kris Kristofferson classic.  "King Louie" Pain, drummer Anthony Jones, and the rest of the KL & BJ band put the funk to it at the 2005 Safeway Waterfront Park blues festival.

Story

Sweet Baby helped NW drum icon Mel Brown get his start professionally.  Decades later, Mel returned the favor by asking James to sing a couple of songs on his 2000 CD, Mister Groove.  "I Want a Little Girl," is one of James' signature tunes--here featuring "King Louie" Pain on organ and Glenn Holstrom on piano.
